About Irina at Irina TravelI started my tourism business career in 1998 by joining a big tour operator company in Uzbekistan. At that time the tourist sector in the country was quite different from what it is now. There were fewer companies, and the competition was easier. I started as an assistant to a tour specialist, and my duties included preparation of tour itineraries and writing of tour proposals. Learning is quick when it is based on practical work, and in one year I was qualified enough to design a new tour from scratch.During my second year I was involved in various vital travel business activities such as reservation and processing of airline tickets using Amadeus, interaction with local hotels, selection and monitoring of the activities of tour guides, preparation of tour budgets and costing, interaction with clients regarding visas, flights, payment modalities etc. At the end of 1999 a moment came when I felt that I have overgrown the limits of responsibilities and reached such a level of self-improvement I could possibly have with that company. Then, I decided to set up my own travel business. Honestly, I did not realize how hard it would be. At the same time, this work has proven to be incredibly interesting and rewarding. Over the years, I have learned a lot about what people call the 'hospitality industry' and now, at some point of maturity, I feel confident that the services my company provides are of very decent quality and very competitive in terms of price. Of course, the life is full of surprises and there is always something to learn. Yet, the strategic idea and the highest priority that I found during the years in this business and that I now set as a goal to achieve is to see my clients happy at the end of their tour. This is why we are here for you. I am not the only one in my company, and there are other key people who will be organizing your tour. They are all my good friends and share the same attitude. |
